Lion Gatekeeper Privacy Policy

Lion Gatekeeper is a browser extension that displays a full-screen animal overlay to remind you to take breaks from screen time. Your privacy is simple to describe: the extension collects nothing.

What we collect

Nothing. Lion Gatekeeper does not collect, store on our servers, transmit, share, or sell any personal data or browsing data. There are no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking of any kind.

What stays on your device

Your settings, whether the extension is enabled, which sites it watches, your custom site list, your work-limit and break-length values, the selected guardian (lion or tiger), and the current timer state, are saved locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. This never leaves your device and is removed if you uninstall the extension.

Why the extension needs its permissions

• Access to sites you visit: only to display the break overlay on the page you are viewing and to check the active tab's address locally so it counts time on the sites you chose. Page content is never read, collected, or transmitted.
• Storage: to save your settings on your device.
• Alarms / idle / tabs / scripting: to track active time accurately and show the overlay at the right moment. None of this sends data anywhere.

Data sharing

We do not share data with anyone because we do not collect any.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
